THE OXFORD

In Ichinomiya, Aichi—Japan’s historic textile region—rare Schonherr looms still remain in operation.
With the original manufacturer no longer in business, the number of working machines continues to decline.

Crafted from this increasingly rare fabric, THE OXFORD is a shirt made with materials whose future production remains uncertain.

AICHI,JAPAN

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Woven on slow-moving vintage looms, the fabric offers a firm structure without stiffness—characteristic of true vintage textiles.
Using fine yarns and a precise 21 stitches-per-inch construction, each shirt is crafted in specialized shirt factories.

Textures once lost to production efficiency are brought back through the hands of Japanese craftsmen.

Weaving

織り
Woven slowly on traditional Schonherr looms in Bishu, Aichi. This low-efficiency process—producing only 15 meters per day—creates a texture impossible to achieve with modern looms.

Textile

WASEWオリジナル・オックスフォード生地
Original Oxford fabric woven on Schonherr looms without excessive starching, preserving a natural texture. Finished with depth and structure unique to Bishu craftsmanship.

Sewing

縫製
Sewn in specialized shirt factories in Japan, using fine yarns and precise 21 stitches per inch for a clean, structured finish.

Finishing

仕上げ
Crafted from rare Schonherr fabric and sewn in Japan, delivering a finished product shaped by its craftsmanship and origin.
